Got the rig done!

Apart from the sliders (i’ll link those up later) It all works how it’s supposed to. I know as far as rigs go this is pretty basic shit, but it’s my first time ever doing one so i’m really suprised it even does what I want it to.

Now that thats out of the way i’ve got some serious modeling left to do. Had a boss idea for something to do with the eyes and got some sketches out for the head, so thats the next job.

The first job I did at dbox has gone public. It’s a few months old now, i’m quite indifferent to it.

More of the new project. Detailing up the leg, ready to set up a full rig.

I know the cabling over the top is wrong and would have more slack in it/a fold, I just dont know how i’d animate that… As it is, i’m doing a spline ik control for all the cables.

New project. Blocking out, getting an idea for form.

It’s going to be animated, so the structure and workings need to make as much sense as possible. This was much more work than i’d anticipated… It’s one thing sort of knowing where you’d expect to see detail, but having it that cohesive is something that’s entirely new to me.

Wanted to do a sunny forest clearing, somewhere you want to take some beers, a girl and a pack of smokes to kill a whole sunday.

I did them in 3dsmax, but they’d be possible to do in houdini - maybe easier, and with more control too.

The spiral ones are made up of a few hundred objects in a straight line, with each one linked to the one before it so it takes the rotation/position. If you select all of them and rotate it arounda central pivot point, the amount increases exponentially towards the end of the line. A lot of it is playing around with that sort of technique to get different looks and feels out of it.
